Ceramic Coating in Edmonton
A bonded SiO₂ layer that adds gloss, repels salt and grime, and makes washing far easier.
What ceramic coating does
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that cures into a hard, hydrophobic layer bonded to your clear coat. In Edmonton the practical benefit is winter washing: salt brine, calcium chloride and road film release far more easily from a coated panel than from bare or waxed paint, which means fewer contact washes and fewer swirl marks.
Give your vehicle a deep gloss finish with long-lasting ceramic coating protection. Ceramic coating creates a slick, hydrophobic layer that helps protect paint from dirt, road grime, UV exposure, water spots and everyday contaminants.
Problems this solves in Edmonton
- Winter salt and calcium chloride bonding to paint and staining it
- Water spotting and mineral etching after washes and spring rain
- Dull, oxidised finish from long summer UV exposure
- Every wash adding new swirl marks because dirt clings to the paint

Benefits
Our process
Decontamination wash, iron fallout removal and clay treatment
Machine paint correction to remove swirls before sealing them in
Panel wipe-down with a solvent to strip all polishing oils
Coating applied panel by panel, then levelled and inspected under lighting
Controlled indoor cure before the vehicle is released
How long it takes: Two to three days for most vehicles, depending on how much paint correction is needed. The coating must cure indoors, so the vehicle stays with us overnight.
Aftercare
Wait seven days before the first wash. After that, use the two-bucket method with a pH-neutral shampoo, or a touchless wash in the middle of winter. Avoid automatic brush washes — they scratch a coated finish exactly as fast as they scratch an uncoated one. Do not apply wax on top; it only masks the coating's water behaviour.
Why it matters here
Most of our coating clients are Edmonton drivers who keep vehicles long term and are tired of scrubbing off winter road film. A coated vehicle can usually be brought back to clean with a touchless wash between November and March, which is the single biggest reason coated cars keep better paint through Alberta winters.
Best suited to: New vehicles, freshly corrected used vehicles, and anyone who wants easier maintenance rather than a weekly wax routine.
Ceramic Coating FAQs
It depends on the product tier and on maintenance. Coatings are sold in multi-year durability ranges, and the vehicles that reach the top of their range are the ones washed correctly and kept out of brush washes. We will tell you the specific durability rating of the product selected for your vehicle before booking.
No. A coating is measured in microns and adds chemical resistance and gloss, not impact resistance. If your concern is gravel damage on the highway, paint protection film is the correct product — many clients combine PPF on the front end with a coating over the whole vehicle.
Yes. A coating makes dirt release easily; it does not prevent dirt from landing. Regular washing is what keeps the hydrophobic behaviour working, and it is far quicker on a coated surface.
A coating is optically clear and locks in whatever is underneath it. Coating over swirl marks preserves those swirl marks for years. Correction before coating is what produces the depth people associate with a properly coated car.
Yes. Our work is done indoors in a controlled environment, and the coating cures inside before you collect the vehicle. Late autumn is actually the most popular time to book, right before salt season starts.
