Window Tint in Edmonton
Nano-ceramic window film for heat rejection, glare control, UV protection and privacy.
What window tint does
Edmonton drivers deal with long, low winter sun and 16-hour summer daylight. Both make glare and cabin heat a daily problem, and both fade dashboards and upholstery over time. Nano-ceramic window film addresses all three without the purple fading and signal interference of older dyed and metallic films.
Upgrade comfort, privacy and style with professional window tinting in Edmonton. Our tint options help reduce glare, improve the look of your vehicle and protect your interior from harsh sunlight.
Alberta legal note: VELOKAM Automotive provides legal tint guidance and compliant rear-window tint options. Alberta's Vehicle Equipment Regulation does not allow tinting material on the windshield or the windows to the left and right of the driver unless an approved medical exemption applies.
Problems this solves in Edmonton

Benefits
Our process
Glass inspection and legal review for your vehicle
Shade selection with samples held against your own glass
Computer-cut patterns, then heat-shrink and hand-fit installation
Cure period guidance and a post-install inspection
How long it takes: Most vehicles are completed in 2 to 4 hours. Film needs 3 to 5 days to fully cure before the windows are rolled down or washed.
Aftercare
Leave the windows up for 3 to 5 days after installation. Once cured, clean the inside of the glass with an ammonia-free cleaner and a soft microfiber towel — ammonia breaks down film adhesive and can cause edge lift over time.
Why it matters here
The most common request we see in Edmonton is heat and glare control for daily commuters, followed by cargo privacy on SUVs and work trucks. Ceramic film is the sensible choice locally because it rejects infrared heat without the metallic layer that interferes with tire-pressure sensors, keyless entry and cellular signal.
Best suited to: Daily drivers, family SUVs, work trucks and vans, and any vehicle parked outdoors year-round.
Window Tint FAQs
Alberta's Vehicle Equipment Regulation does not permit tinting material on the windshield or on the driver and front-passenger windows without an approved medical exemption. Rear side windows and the back windshield may be tinted. We install only on legally tintable glass and review your specific vehicle before we start.
On a passenger vehicle, rear side windows and the rear windshield have no darkness limit in Alberta as long as the vehicle has working side mirrors. We will show you shade samples on your own glass so you can judge the look and the rearward visibility at night.
Dyed film reduces visible light but very little infrared heat, and it fades toward purple after a few seasons. Nano-ceramic film blocks a much higher share of infrared heat and UV, holds its colour, and contains no metal, so it does not interfere with radio, GPS, keyless entry or tire-pressure sensors.
Wait 3 to 5 days. The mounting solution used during installation needs that time to evaporate. Rolling a window down early is the most common cause of a peeled edge.
Yes, in two ways. Low-angle winter sun produces some of the worst glare of the year, and ceramic film cuts it noticeably. It also slows heat loss through the glass slightly, though it is not a substitute for a remote starter.
